BSc Business Management

Choosing the right university to pursue one’s degree is always a daunting and a mind-boggling task in hand, for me it was no exception. After completing my school successfully from New Delhi with a decent score, the first thing on my mind was to find an institution that would help me enhance my future career prospects by providing a practical and innovative learning experience. For me the most essential thing on mind was the standing of the university on a global level. As Queen Mary has an excellent reputation on a global scale and is part of the prestigious University of London, I zeroed in on Queen Mary and did not have to give my university choice a second thought.

My first year at Queen Mary so far has been a fantastic and brand new experience for me. The School of Business and Management totally proved the worth of its high rankings. I was exposed to different highly innovative and intriguing approaches to learning which deviated greatly from the rote learning system that I was accustomed to. For instance in one of my modules, I gained knowledge about dynamic global business situations not from a textbook or lectures but from watching Hollywood movies. This might sound a bit absurd and far-fetched at first but after going through the whole process I could appreciate that it was an extremely practical and intelligent way to learn about business.

The teaching staff  members are highly supportive and cooperating, they try their level best to elucidate a particular topic be it with the help of visual gadgets or extensive discussion in lectures or seminar groups.

Queen Mary has a very strong social life culture. There are various activities and events available to the students - from sports to informative events to socio-cultural get- togethers. They provide students with plenty of opportunities to socialise with their seniors and fellow coursemates. I am a member of the ‘Hindu Society’ and the ‘Business Society’. The former helps me to stay close and bonded to my culture while being away from home while the latter enables me to gain valuable insights into the functioning of the real business world.

My university experience at Queen Mary has been great so far and I am keenly looking forward to the next two years of my remaining degree.
