Entry requirements

A/AS-levels

Typical tariff or grades required: AAA from three A-Levels or equivalents

Additional information: You must also have five GCSEs at grade A*–C, including B in English and B in Mathematics.

Excluded subjects: General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Maths.

Vocational or Applied  A-levels

Acceptable only when combined with other qualifications.

Key skills

Results of key skills tests will not normally form part of the offer of a place.

BTEC Level 3 Diploma (12 units)

Acceptable only when combined with at least one A-Level at grade A.

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (18 units)

Acceptable on its own.
Subjects and grades required: Overall D*DD-DDD
Additional information: You must have 5 GCSEs at grades A*–C, including B in English (language or literature) and B in Mathematics.

International Baccalaureate

Acceptable on its own.
Subjects and grades required: 36–34 points overall, with 6, 6, 5 in higher level subjects, including at least 5 in higher level English or 6 in standard level English, and at least 4 in standard level maths.

European Baccalaureate 

Acceptable on its own.
Subjects and grades required: Overall score of 82%, including 6 in Maths and 7 in English.

Access to HE Diploma

Pass a QAA accredited Access course with Distinction in at least 30 Level 3 credits and Merit in at least 15 Level 3 credits.

You must also have five GCSEs at grade A*–C, including B in English and B in Mathematics.

European and international qualifications

We require an IELTS 7.0 overall band score or Internet-based TOEFL 100 Total Score.

Italy: 90 overall, Diploma di Esame di Stato/Diploma di Maturità

France: 14/20, Diplôme du Baccalauréat Général

Germany: 1.6 overall, including 12 in two higher level subjects, Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife / Abitur

Greece: 18.5/20 average in the Apolytirion, including at least 18 in two relevant Pan-Hellenic Examination Subjects

Netherlands: 7.5 overall, Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs (VWO)

USA: High School Graduate Diploma with a GPA of 3.3 or above, including grade B or 80% in Grade 12 Maths and English, and 3 APs of 5,5,5

Hong Kong: Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) 5,5,4 in any order from core English, Maths and 2 Elective subjects (Not Chinese Language or Liberal Studies) 

India: 80-85 per cent, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), 90% from State Boards
