  • Responsible for the effective management and delivery of the School website, design and external publications, including website management, digital media, communications and advertising.
  • Monitor and implement Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), analyse web traffic and identify trends.
  • Annual audit to review website content and monthly action plan
  • Utilise market research to develop strategies to improve site content and style.
  • Develop the School's social media platforms e.g. Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter.
  • Produce photographic and video footage.
  • Coordinate the prospectus, brochures, e-newsletter and marketing materials.

  • Delivers programme-module support for the Undergraduate programmes with particular emphasis on providing support for joint programmes and Associate students, engaging with student administration and retention, developing data driven problem identification solutions to enhance the student-academic cycle of activities from enrolment through to graduation.
  • Proactively reviews the University’s bespoke systems to complement the School’s systems and processes, providing data analysis to identify problems and solution developments
  • Streamlines programme and module administration, rationalising resource allocation between single and joint programme provision.
  • Coordinates QMplus module environments ensuring office hours, timetable information, coursework drop boxes, resit instructions, working in partnership with the relevant Module Organiser/teaching team to deliver modules effectively.
  • Allocates students to seminar allocations, distribute registers, monitor attendance, taking appropriate action.
  • Reports on Tier 4 requirements.
  • Inputs coursework marks, process student feedback and prepare examination papers, assisting SEB Secretary.
  • Distributes module evaluations.
  • Allocates Academic Advisors using MySiS.
  • Monitors and support Associate/Erasmus students, working in collaboration with the academic lead.
  • Works in partnership with joint programme schools to deliver effective timetables, module information and support.

  • Supports and delivers programme-module support for the PhD and MRes programmes with particular emphasis on providing support from application through to graduation, supporting the work of the PhD Programme Director.
  • Develops systems to improve the administration of the PhD and MRes programmes.
  • Coordinates the induction programme, updating student records, Tier 4 and student handbook.
  • Updates supervisor allocations and monitors student-staff progressions.
  • Committee Secretary for the PhD Programmes Committee and SSLC.
  • Creates longlists for PhD applications, organises scholarships and studentship administration.
  • Organises annual PhD Symposium and refresher training workshops.
  • Process PhD student expenses.

  • Manages activities in order to enhance the student experience with particular emphasis on student recruitment, conversion and welcome week activities, implementing the School’s marketing plan and supporting the Recruitment and Admissions Director.
  • Manages student recruitment conversion activity relationships with the Recruitment and Admissions Director, from application through to enrolment stats.
  • Implements the School’s communication strategy, writing to prospective applicants and parents, using large data sets and mail merges.
  • Hosts recruitment fairs and events in strategic countries and regions.
  • Develops the advertising campaign, promoting the alumni profile
  • Promote and disseminate the NSS, PTES in liaison with Programme Directors.

  • Administrates the delivery of public engagement-relationship activities, develops and manages alumni relationships against the School’s strategic objectives, including events management, executive education activities and supports the work of the Research Centres/Groups to develop research engagement and impact.
  • Organises and advertises school conferences, seminars, inaugural lectures and workshops, enhancing the School’s media strategy via the website, blogs and podcasts.
  • Organises the summer schools.
  • Coordinates admin support for Research Centre/Groups and facilitate relationships and activities with the Research Director and Research Operations Officer.
  • Project manages and plans alumni events to increase the school's portfolio.
  • Works in partnership with Alumni Office, academics and students to support student-relationship management activities

  • Coordinates internships scheme for students and recent graduates, ranging in length from 2 to 6 months, including internship marketing and administration, and provides recruitment support to internship providers.
  • Approaches new external employers to persuade them to take on interns and produces marketing materials on the scheme.
  • Builds relationships with existing clients of the Careers Employers Engagement Team, working collaboratively with student and school staff.
  • Produces monthly progress reports on activities and success.
  • Research connections to build suitable partners for the internship scheme.
  • Monitors and drives progress towards the internship targets.

  • Responsible for providing research support to enable professional research users to create and disseminate their research, supporting the work of the Director of Research, including the administration of Finance and HR operations.

Abi Sharma

Abi Sharma is a Senior Careers Consultant with responsibility for the School of Business and Management, as well as the Deputy Head of Careers and Enterprise.  She provides students with one-to-one appointments within the School and coordinates and delivers a  programme of careers activities, bespoke to SBM.  These include employer visits, employer mentoring, Careers Consultant-led workshops on recruitment and job search skills and alumni panels. She also delivers in-curriculum assessed careers education to the first years and, in partnership with the School, runs QConsult – where students provide solutions to an organisation’s business problem.
