Prof Sarosh Kurvilla, Andrew J. Nathanson Family Professor of Industrial Relations, Asian Studies and Public Affairs, Cornell University and Visiting Professor, London School of Economics will discuss Three More Nails in the Coffin?: Towards the End of Private Regulation in Global Supply Chains (abstract below).
This lecture is hosted by Prof Gill Kirton.
Drawing on empirical research in three “critical cases”, the author argues that Private regulation in global supply chains does not work as it is intended. The results question both the efficacy of private regulation as well as the moral compass at the heart of many CSR efforts. The author argues that it is probably time to end private regulation as we know not.
