Dr Nick Tsitsianis and Professor Colin Haslam at the School of Business and Management Win Best Poster Award
Congratulations Dr Nick Tsitsianis, Director of Student Experience and Engagement/Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Professor Colin Haslam, Professor in Accounting and Finance at the School of Business and Management (SBM), Queen Mary University of London.

Nick’s submission: ‘The performance of students undertaking non-specialist accounting modules in light of endogenous and exogenous factors. An empirical approach’ was voted Best Poster at the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) Learning, Teaching & Student Experience conference held on 24-25 April 2018. The poster was presented by Nick based on the research paper whose co-author is Professor Colin Haslam (picture below).
The Chartered Association of Business Schools is the voice of the UK’s business and management education sector. CABs supports members to maintain world-class standards of teaching and research, and helps shape policy and create opportunities through dialogue with business and government. Its members consist of 120 business schools, higher education providers, affiliate stakeholders, corporate members and international partners.
Nick’s Best Poster award brings personal and professional recognition for his outstanding work; and that of the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary amongst business school peers at a local, national and international level. Nicks says:
“The findings of this research work are implemented rigorously to our teaching practice. As a School through various channels we have been and we will be trying to improve the student learning experience. What we have doing has been recognized by the CABS and this recognition fuels our enthusiasm to further enhance the student journey”.
As part of the ‘Winners Privilege’, they have been invited to present a research paper on their work at next year’s CABS conference and write a ‘Perspectives On…’ paper which has been developed by CABS as an online resource to promote dissemination and discussion of contemporary issues in the Higher Education (HE) sector.
