Title of Paper: Organizational identity construction through embodied strategizing moves: Narratives as symbolic, emotional and practical glue

I will talk about identity formation during major organizational change. The empirical context is a recently established hospital department and the re-organization of care, where nurses and managers struggle to construct and reclaim a legitimate identity. A Bourdieusian theoretical framework is combined with a focus on narratives as an original perspective for studying Organizational identity. The study shows how identity is constructed through the embodied strategizing moves of managers and nurses, which include their narrative constructions of their quest for care progression and a legitimate identity in the organization.
